The accident: audio post
[Without any warning, the audio starts.]
-- will you work you lousy excuse of a machine! I've been pushing all the damn buttons and there's still no sign of anything happening!
[Beep. The gear flashes which can't be seen, but clearly it just took a picture of Ed being... a real adult. Of course Ed knows what a camera is and has had images of him taken but this thing doesn't look like a camera so-]
What the fuck-- ARE YOU MOCKING ME YOU STUPID MACHINE?!
[There are some sounds of the gear dropping to the ground, more yelling over at how stupid this machine was and eventually the audio post just stops. Good thing these gears are rather durable...]
The actual one: video post
[After time some of figuring out how the gear actually works, Ed finally manages to make a video post on the network. Don't blame him for never seeing something like this, he comes from the 1900's.]
What the hell is going on? I was on a train and the next thing I know I'm in a village of sorts with a talking chimera following me- okay, so it's not really a chimera, but it could have been one!
[Yes, Ed full well knows that the creatures here are called Pokémon. He did read the guide he received and all that. While it's now clear for him what he should be doing, it's not clear for him as to why he should be doing that.]
Besides, that person... in the house. That was definitely not my mother. [She's dead. Dead people didn't come back to life. And that woman didn't even look like her.] Why the fuck would she call herself one and then tell me to get out of the house? That's fucking insane.
I want some answers on how I'm here. I know what we're set to do here, but how was I transported here? It's not because of the damn gate again, is it? [He can't even get himself to the gate, so that would be even more confusing if it was that thing's fault.]

A-Ah, um...y-you've got it on audio, sir... It's already recording...
audio;
Oh.]
Sorry about that. I didn't realize.
audio;
I-It's all right...! I, um... I take it you're new here? If you have any questions, I can try to help you to the best of my ability...
audio;
Yeah, I arrived just a while ago. Do you know if there's anyone I can talk to here in the first town? You know, like a some adult in charge or something?
audio;
...I don't think they're much help. The person who I'm travelling with right now said that she went to ask around, but...all she found out from them is that the next city - Cherrygrove - is three days over, so you should head there first. ...Ah, by the way, are you a trainer or a breeder? Your course of action really depends on which one you are...
audio;
Hmm? Apparently I've been named a breeder.
audio;
Oh! Then you're like me, then. Someone told me that breeders should aim for Goldenrod City since it houses the Breeding Centre. So, maybe we'll be able to meet there.
audio;
[Though he's still not sure why he's a breeder. What gives them the idea that he'd be good for making Pokémon have... well... babies.]
Do breeders have a set goal like trainers have? To be a Pokémon master, or something like that.
audio;
[She sounds positively cheerful right now.]
Not necessarily. We're supposed to "breed the best Pokémon" possible, but...that sounds a bit harsh, doesn't it? I don't think any Pokémon is less significant than another, and I don't think it's possible to breed the best. We do get privileges that trainers don't have, however, such as getting more eggs in a clutch as well as using HMs without a badge. [Guess who definitely read through that guide she was given.]
audio;
HM's were those hidden machines that let you Fly on Pokémon and stuff like that, right? I wonder why normal trainers need badges for them...
